Yonex Denmark Open Premier Super Series: Rasmus Fladberg beats Marius Myhre in an epic contest
Denmark’s spirited player Rasmus Fladberg had to work really hard in Men’s Singles qualifying round battle against Norway’s Marius Myhre and he managed to win it narrowly at the Yonex Denmark Open Premier Super Series 2012 on Tuesday, October 16, at Odense.
The local shuttler employed every skill he had in his reserves and remained successful in tasting victory after ending up a breath-taking battle that took the best from both participants and lasted for 57 minutes.
Fladberg could not show his craft in opening set but he found a good flow at the right time and managed to win the remaining both sets and finished off the match in three sets with a tight margin on score board.
Myhre, on the other hand, put up staggering show of attacking and positive badminton throughout the contest and he kept on troubling his rival in all three games.
However, Norwegian player remained unlucky in the ending points of final set and lost the match with a respectable difference.
In the first game, Fladberg put in extra effort to earn an early lead but he could not create even a slight pressure on his rival who was in a dominating position in the opening half.
After the one-minute break, Danish player could not bridge the gap on score board at any stage and eventually lost the first set with a 16-21 margin on score board.
Things were different in the following set when Fladberg changed his tactics and started to put pressure on Myhre who remained struggling to stay positive on court in the opening half.
In the concluding part of second set, Fladberg geared up his speed and maintained the gap throughout the set and finished it with a margin of 21-15.
The deciding game of this interesting contest was breath-taking when both players pushed each other to the limit and stayed close in opening half.
After the mid-game interval, both participants continued showing up their impressive craft on court and reached at 22-22 when Fladberg showed his brilliance and took the set with a dramatic score of 24-22.
Fladberg emerged as the winner in this epic contest in three games with a 16-21, 21-15 and 24-22 score on the board.
