Yonex Denmark Open: Wang Yihan ousts Chloe Magee to ease into Women’s Singles second round
China’s ace shuttler Wang Yihan showed urgency in easing into Women’s Singles second round after showing exit to her lower ranked challenger Chloe Magee of Ireland in first round clash at the Yonex Denmark Open Premier Super Series 2012 on Wednesday, October
17, in Denmark.
The top seeded Yihan, who has been ranked at number one in Women’s Singles world placement, showed her top class skills and managed to overpower her Irish opponent in a completely dictating manner in just 23 minutes.
Yihan, who won the silver medal at 2012 London Olympics, put up a superb show on court by playing with superb precision and managed to defeat her opponent in straight games with a one-sided score on the board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Magee could not do much on court as she failed to even show a meagre resistance to her Chinese opponent. She was no match to the superior skills of her rival and eventually lost the battle without creating even a slight trouble
for Yihan.
Chinese shuttler started her run in a fast and dominating manner in first set and managed an impressive lead at the initial stage.
Yihan continued giving a punishing treatment to her un-seeded opponent all the way to grab a wonderful lead of 11-4 until the end of first half.
After the one-minute break, Chinese ace did not let her rival to play dominating badminton and stayed ahead all the way to wind up the game with a stunning 21-11 score on the board.
In the second set of this opening round encounter, Magee played elevated badminton in opening half at the initial stage but she failed to match the increasing speed of her opponent and remained trailing behind at 6-11 until the break.
After the one-minute interval, Yihan continued putting up impressive show of controlled play without showing any mercy to her Irish rival and managed to finish up the set with a huge margin of 21-13.
The top seeded Yihan ended up this Women’s Singles battle in straight games in just 23 minutes with a 21-11 and 21-13 score on the board.
