Yonex Dutch International: Line Kjaersfeldt thrashes Flore Vandenhoucke in Women’s Singles first round
Denmark’s Line Kjaersfeldt found a staggering start in Women’s Singles first round when she easily thrashed Belgium’s Flore Vandenhoucke at the Yonex Dutch International 2013 in Netherlands, on Friday, April 19.
The in-form Kjaersfeldt, who has been struggling hard to make her presence felt at international stage, showed superb performance in the opening round of the tournament and easily sent Flore packing in just 18 minutes.
Danish player was on a different level in the arena as she played with complete command and easily wrapped up a terrific victory by winding up the contest in straight games with a smashing 21-9 and 21-16 score on the board.
On the contrary, Flore failed to play aggressive badminton as she lost her control over the pace of rallies and remained struggling. She missed many opportunities of getting points and failed to handle the pressure and eventually lost the match in straight
sets.
The impressive Kjaersfeldt performed extremely well from the starting points of first game as she played with amazing speed and grabbed the control of the game.
The speed of the rallies was very fast in starting set and Kjaersfeldt impressed local fans with her lofty skills.
Kjaersfeldt did not show any sign of confusion as she remained in complete command of the pace until the end of first part.
The underdog Flore could not change things around after the mid-game interval as she lost her focus in the arena.
Danish shuttler continued employing powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually took the opening game with a staggering margin of 21-9.
Things were different in the opening half of the second game as Flore accelerated her speed in all areas and started to match the pace of rallies. The score progressed closely from both sides and no one could manage an early lead in the opening points.
However, Kjaersfeldt changed her tactics and controlled the affairs of the game by increasing her speed. She created and maintained pressure on her rival and started to build lead.
In the concluding part of second game, the impressive Kjaersfeldt continued her comfortable ride and easily finished up the second set with a big difference of 21-16.
