Yonex Dutch Open 2012: Dmytro Zavadsky topples Rune Ulsing to storm into Men’s Singles quarter-final
Ukraine’s in-form player Dmytro Zavadsky was in top form as he easily stormed into Men’s Singles quarter-final after defeating Denmark’s Rune Ulsing in third round contest at the Yonex Dutch Open 2012 in Netherlands, on Thursday, October 11.
The passionate Zavadsky, who has been positioned at number three in Men’s Singles seeding in the tournament, played in a remarkable fashion and registered a spectacular victory by showing up his elevated craft.
Ukrainian shuttler was in tremendous form as he played with confidence and speed and managed to win the match in straight games in a crushing manner with a superb margin in just 32 minutes on court.
In the meanwhile, the 16th seeded Ulsing could not utilise his remarkable skills as he could not create gaps in his opponent’s court and eventually lost the contest without even getting a decent total.
The fight was interesting in the opening half of first game when both participants showed their tremendous craft on court and stayed close on the board at the initial stage.
Both men employed all of their skills to dominate the pace of rallies and none of them could establish a comfortable lead until the end of first half.
After the one-minute break, Zavadsky increased his speed and started to create trouble for his Danish challenger by taking the bird very early.
Ukrainian showed his remarkable skills on court and managed to win the first game with an inspiring 21-15 score on the board.
In the second set, Zavadsky played controlled badminton from opening points of the game and he remained in commanding position all the way to establish a reasonable lead of 11-8 until the end of first half.
After the one-minute break, Zavadsky continued showing his commanding craft as he injected variations in his shots by taking the bird at net and managed to stretch his lead on the board.
Zavadsky stayed calm and composed in the ending points and won the second game with a striking margin of 21-16.
The higher ranked Zavadsky emerged as the winner in this third round battle in straight sets by putting up 21-15 and 21-16 total on score board.
