Yonex Dutch Open 2012: Petr Koukal shows exit to Fabian Roth in Men’s Singles second round
Czech Republic’s Petr Koukal proved his presence felt by reaching into Men’s Singles round-of-16 after stamping his mark over Germany’s Fabian Roth in second round contest at the Yonex Dutch Open 2012 on Wednesday, October 10, in Netherlands.
The 14th seeded Koukal, who has been playing competitive badminton for the last couple of years, showed a great improvement in the technical and tactical aspects of his game as he easily thrashed the German shuttler in a completely authoritative
way.
Koukal was in remarkable form as he did not face any trouble on court while playing against Fabian in the whole match and remained successful in ending it up in straight games by consuming 27 minutes on court.
The lower ranked Fabian, in the meanwhile, failed to put up strong performance on court as he was unable to create any problem for his in-form challenger and crashed out without showing a strong character.
In the opening game of this third round match, Koukal played with impressive speed and precision on court and did not waste any time in setting up an early lead.
The lofty Koukal was impressive in his shot selection and he kept his rival under pressure all the way to set up a superb 11-4 lead on score board until the break.
After the one-minute interval, Koukal continued playing in a controlled and dictating manner as he kept Fabian moving around on court and managed to win the opening game in a crushing fashion with a 21-13 score on the board.
The second game was also the same as Koukal did not face any considerable opposition from his rival and took a comfortable lead of 11-7 until the break.
The impressive Koukal remained on track after the one-minute interval and maintained pressure on Fabian who was struggling hard to live up to the expectations.
Koukal remained on track in the whole concluding half managed to finish up the second game in an elevated fashion by a staggering margin of 21-13.
The in-form Koukal remained successful in winning the match in just 27 minutes with a superb 21-13 and 21-13 score on the board.
