Yonex German Open 2013: Boonsak Ponsana demolishes Arvind Bhat in Men’s Singles second round
Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana found another wonderful day as he reserved his berth in Men’s Singles round-of-16 after demolishing India’s Arvind Bhat in the second round at Yonex German Open 2013 on Wednesday, February 27, in Germany.
The in-form Boonsak, who is the second seed in Men’s Singles main draw at the German Open, played with staggering speed and precision and managed to end up the winning run of Bhat in just 31 minutes in completely commanding manner.
Thai shuttler employed his extensive experience in the arena and remained successful in registering a stunning victory over his Indian challenger by winding up the match in straight games with a staggering 21-10 and 21-16 score on the board.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Bhat failed to continue his winning streak against his experienced Thai challenger. He tried to play aggressively in the second game but failed to stop the advancement of his challenger and eventually crashed without winning
any set.
It was a crunchy fight in the initial points when Boonsak showed a wonderful display of his craft in the arena. The speed of the rallies was quite fast in first game and Boonsak impressed local crowd with his lofty skills.
The impressive Boonsak proceeded with a stunning speed in the starting half and remained ahead on score board all the way until the one-minute interval.
Thai shuttler remained comfortable on court after the break as he did not lose his focus at any stage and managed to stay in commanding position all the way.
Boonsak was very calm and composed on court as he did not play negative badminton and finished up the first set with a dominating difference of 21-10.
Bhat was once again in trouble in the second game as he received a severe treatment from his opponent who was at his best in the arena.
Boonsak displayed his impressive skills in the arena by picking the bird early from all corners and maintained his domination over his opponent.
The attacking and positive play in the ending half of second set helped Boonsak to grab the set with a stunning 21-16 total on the board.
