Indonesia’s elite player Tommy Sugiarto proved his mettle and stormed into Men’s Singles semi-final after crushing England’s Rajiv Ouseph in quarter-final encounter at Yonex German Open 2013 on Friday, March 1, in Germany.
The higher ranked Tommy, who is the eighth seeded player in Men’s Singles main draw of the championship, played with smashing speed and precision and he easily outplayed the 12th seeded Ouseph while taking 35 minutes of the court time.
Indonesian shuttler was on a completely different level in the arena as he played with an impressive control in his strokes and remained successful in winning this quarter-final clash in straight games with a comprehensive 21-15 and 21-10 score on the board.
On the contrary, the lower ranked Ouseph played competitive badminton in the opening half of first game but failed to continue his winning run and eventually bowed down against Tommy without proving his wroth in the arena.

Tommy remained consistent in employing powerful smashes in targeted areas and eventually bagged the opening game with a sound difference of 21-15.
Tommy did not lose his supremacy at any stage in the starting half of second game as he played with confidence and aggression.
Indonesian shuttler displayed his staggering craft in the arena by taking the bird timely from all corners and maintained his domination over his challenger.
The aggressive and positive play in the ending half of second set helped Tommy to bag the set with a staggering 21-10 margin on the board.
In the semi-final of the tournament, Tommy will be up against Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana who overpowered India’s Anand Pawar in the other quarter-final match.
