Yoo Yeon Seong and Ye Na Jang storm into Mixed Doubles semi-final at Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012
Korea’s talented players Yoo Yeon Seong and Ye Na Jang advanced into Mixed Doubles semi-final after giving a severe treatment to their lower ranked team-mates Sang Joon Lee and So Young Kim in quarter-final clash at Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 in Korea, on
Friday, December 7.
The in-form Yeon Seong and Ye Na, who are the top seeded shuttlers in the Mixed Doubles main draw of the championship, played with tremendous precision and managed to end up the winning run of their compatriots in just 35 minutes.
Yeon Seong and Ye Na were in staggering form as they played with tremendous confidence in their shots and remained successful in winning this quarter-final clash in straight games with a comfortable margin on the board.
In contrast, Sang Joon and So Young also displayed glimpses of their brilliance in the arena but they could not control the pace of rallies when it mattered most and eventually lost the match in a reasonable manner.
Korean shuttlers performed extremely well from the starting rallies of first game as they played with remarkable speed and took over the control of the game.
The hard-to-learn variations in Yeon Seong and Ye Na’s strokes helped them to continue their domination against their team-mates in the arena.
Until the end of first part of first set, the in-form Yeon Seong and Ye Na attained a strong position on board by setting up a sufficient gap.
After the one-minute break, Sang Joon and So Young tried to put up strong resistance but they could not take charge of the game and remained trailing in the arena.
Meanwhile, Yeon Seong and Ye Na continued hitting powerful smashes in targeted areas and eventually took the opening game with a superb margin of 21-16.
Yeon Seong and Ye Na did not lose their supremacy at any stage in the starting part of second set as they played with wonderful control and aggression in their shots.
The powerful smashes and unmatched net play kept Yeon Seong and Ye Na ahead of their challengers all the way until the end of first half.
After the break, the impressive Yeon Seong and Ye Na continued their smooth sailing and easily grabbed the second set by a stunning score of 21-17.
Yeon Seong and Ye Na won this Mixed Doubles quarter-final battle in a dominating fashion with a superb 21-16 and 21-17 score on the board.
