Yordy Cabrera excited to be part of Miami Marlins - MLB Update
Infielder Yordy Cabrera is upbeat to unleash his talent while being part of the Miami Marlins. He was obtained by the Marlins through a deal which sent their relief pitcher Heath Bell to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Cabrera is currently in the process of developing his skills. He boasts amazing credentials to join the Marlins in the Major League and become a force to reckon with in their offence.
At the moment, the Marlins face a bitter reality. Their dreams that they built before the beginning of the 2012 regular season have shattered.
They added star players on the roster, hoping that they will change the fate of their club by helping them win glories in the season.
Along with new players, they had the inauguration of their new Marlins ballpark and the change in the team uniform.
Despite all the measures taken by the management to make Miami as one of the strong teams in the Major League, major improvements did not occur.
Currently, the Marlins are recovering from the miseries that they suffered in the season. They are trying to make sure the next year brings cheers on the faces of their fans.
They will be announcing important decisions during the offseason. Some of the players and the officials that proved to be bottlenecks will most probably be removed.
The Marlins have already fired their manager Ozzie Guillen, who was widely considered as one of the greatest weak-links in the team. Further alterations in the formation of a proper unit for the future can be expected.
Cabrera enjoys an ideal opportunity to impress the officials and earn a nod for entry into the team next year.
As the club needs quality hitters, he can fit the equation easily by showing consistent performances while playing for the Phoenix Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League.
Basilio Cabrera, who is the father of Yordy has been a real source of support for the infielder, as far as baseball is concerned. Yordy has narrated as to how his father taught him English and helped in becoming member of the Marlins’ team.
“I remember he used to make me read every single night. He would sit next to me and try to teach me as much as he could in English: how to read, how to pronounce things, the right words,” Yordy said. “By my sophomore year, I was pretty much fluent in English,
and I was doing everything on my own. Whenever I was confused, I was going to him.”
Yordy will be going all out to ascertain that the Marlins consider him seriously as part of their expedition for the upcoming season. Arizona Fall League is an excellent platform for him to convince the Marlins of what he is capable of.
