4 weeks ago my 3.5lb yorkie began to have accidents in the house and started to take longer and longer to urinate outside. 4 days later she saw the vet, he said she had some bacteria and crystals in her urine and put her on Amoxil. I took her back 1 week later, he saw " a lot of blood" in her urine this time. He changed her antibiotic. She neither improved or worsened. 4 days into the 2nd antiboitic she went into heat, 2 days later she began to lose her bladder. Her incontinence increased, she still squatted for lengthy periods and her "hot pants" were always soaked despite taking her out more frequently. 11 days into the 2nd antibiotic I took her to a new vet. No blood in urine, he didnt think it was stones because she didnt react to him palpating her bladder. She is only just now 11 months old. She has been on a keflex type antibiotic for 8 days and isnt any better. We continue to take her outside even though she is still losing her bladder into her pad. The only time she is dry is in the morning.

  1. she could have crystals, but she could be hormonally incontinent as well. The pH of her urine is obviously wrong and she is getting infections. You need to change her food to special urinary diets, Hills has c/d and s/d available from your vet. In the morning she will be dry because she doesnt drink anything during the night.

I would get her spayed ASAP and the vet can check her bladder at the same time.

  2. Put dorky outside so it ruin the house

  3. Someone suggested spaying as I would too!  I also wonder if they have done x-rays to rule out tumors?

  4. is she spaded because my dog Had the same problem before she was spaded.
