Yorkshire Icon expected to thrive in Sendrig Construction Blaydon Race (Nursery)
The Ann Duffield trained bay colt, Yorkshire Icon, has always performed well under Graham Lee who is going to drive him again in the Sendrig Construction Blaydon Race (Nursery) that will be held at Newcastle racecourse on Monday, August 27. Thus, it is expected
that the two-year-old confidence colt will be able to make a big impact in the Class 2 contest while running alongside nine worthy rivals.
The talented son of Sixties Icon out of Evanesce will show his guts on the soft ground of 1 mile and 3 yards. The success will earn him £8,086.
Yorkshire Icon has been at the top of his game since the very first day he stepped inside the sport arena. Debuting on May 15, 2012, he nicely finished third in the Office Bar Champagnes And Cocktails Median Auction Maiden Stakes, held at Carlisle. He repeated
the same in the very next race as well.
The G. Hedley & Mike Channon Bloodstock Limited bred colt grabbed the runner-up position in the In Loving Memory of Les Preen Maiden Auction Stakes that took place at Beverley on June 26.
Interesting to note is the fact that the brilliant sprinter registered his maiden success on the soft course of Beverley. That was the Award-Winning Coachman Caravans Maiden Auction Stakes, held on July 7. The winner was the 2-1 favourite.
On August 3, Yorkshire Icon grabbed another grand victory in the Thirskracecourse.net Claiming Stakes over 7 furlongs. He went on to finish 3rd in his last outing named as Racing UK On Sky 432 Nursery.
In the light of these stats, it is assumed that the enthusiastic colt will take it quite easy to thrive today; however, he is likely to face some resilience from Jubilee Games who excellently achieved a tremendous triumph each in May and June.
The Richard Fahey trained bay colt can prove to be fairly fatal for Yorkshire Icon. Thus, the rip-roaring contest is going to be an acid test of Yorkshire Icon’s talent. Despite being the strongest of all, he will need an extra-ordinary run to thrive. Let
us see how he manages to do justice with his skills. Good luck to him.
