Got a Yorkie (5 yrs old) & this weekend she has been eating grass ( which I know they do to clear their stomach) but also has the runs & very 'windy' - think she has eaten something that didnt agree with her.... not given her any food today to try & get rid of whatever is upsetting her system, but tomorrow will feed her again.... shes drinking plenty of water & a few dry biscuits Whats the best thing give her.....heard somewhere, that boiled chicken or boiled fish is good for an upset stomach?? Is that right

  1. boiled chicken and rice would be great - just remember little and often for a few days and then gradually introduce her normal food. as for the grass - some dogs (like mine) just like to eat grass!! I've spoken to my vet about it and its quite normal for some dogs to just develop a liking for grass. Hope youre little one is better soon, but remember if the upset stomach doesn't clear up, even with the chicken and rice, it might be worth a visit to the vet for some antibiotics. It could be a virus, but its easily treated.

  2. I give my dog some pepto  about a teaspoon of it  when she gets the runs and that really helps her  GOOD LUCK :)  If that doesnt work i would take her to the vet  but the pepto really does work you can also try some rice i use that as well maybe mix a little chicken breast in with it

  3. yeahh and also try spaghettie sauce or tomatoe soup it's very healthy for them and cures or makes them feel better. you could also try letting her lay down on a heating pad.

  4. I have one at home

  5. Sounds like you are doing everything right.

Boiled hamburg and rice is what i use - not too much at a time.

PS   Dogs eat grass for a lot of reasons.

  6. my dog had that too, but its gone, it just went away after he ate lots of grass=]

  7. my 4 month yorkie is just back from an overnite stay at the vets cause she ate a lot of sand.  The vet said the best thing 2 feed her for the next couple of days is scrambled eggs cause its quite bland and easy on the tummy.

  8. feed them their natural food, cats..
