Yossi Benayoun joins Chelsea from Liverpool

Liverpool’s Israel captain Yossi Benayoun has signed a three-year contract at Chelsea.

The 30-year-old leaves Liverpool after three years at the club for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £7million, and is happy to be linking up with his new club.

“I am very excited to come to a club like Chelsea, it is a big club and I think it is a dream for every player,” Benayoun told Chelsea's official website. “Hopefully we will be successful.”

His new manager Carlo Ancelotti is a happy man too, and the Italian can’t wait to work with his new signing.

“We are happy to have this new player,” said the Italian.

“Yossi has a lot of quality in midfield and can play in lots of positions. I like his behaviour on the pitch and he will do a great job for us next season.”
