Yossi Benayoun could return to face Stoke City
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 midfielder Yossi Benayoun revealed he was hoping to make his return by next month. The Israeli international moved to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool last summer but failed to make an impact on his new side because of an injury.
Benayoun has been out with an Achilles injury since September and has only just returned to training for the Blues. However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895 recently mentioned how the midfielder was back in training and close to a return.
Benayoun said while speaking to reporters, “I'm feeling really good and progressing well. I hope to return to full training with Chelsea within a week or two. My hope is to be match fit towards the end of the month.”
The 30-year-old midfielder is aiming to make his comeback by 2nd April, when the Blues travel to Britannia Stadium to take on Stoke City. He confirmed his return to training, “I really believe in myself now and I've been running for quite a few
weeks, sometimes with the ball.”
Torres assures goals will come
Striker Fernando Torres is certain he will score goals for Chelsea and revealed he was hoping to start against Blackpool on Monday. The Blues will take on Blackpool in the English Premier League after defeating league leaders Manchester United 2-1 at Stamford
Bridge in their last fixture.
Despite the record breaking transfer fee Chelsea paid to get Torres to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, the Spaniard has failed to score for the Blues. However, he insisted that would change soon, he said, “I know I'm here to score goals.
It's the job of the striker, so hopefully I can score the first and I'm sure it will be the first of many.”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international had a particularly disappointing last season, when he faced a lengthy lay off. The injury prone striker was injured for the better part of 2010, because of which he could not fully participate in his country claiming the 2010 World
Cup. However, he has not had any injury problems since arriving at Chelsea.
Torres revealed he was adjusting to his new side and would soon be scoring goals, he continued, “Trying to settle here, but much better, much better fitness. I felt the other day against Man United very good, sharp. So, waiting for the first goal and excited
about that possibility. Hopefully, I can score against Blackpool.”
