You're abandoning society and moving to a deserted island. What do you take with you?

Question

You can take any size boat that is possible to operate single-handedly. Your destination is in the Pacific Ocean. You are fully intent on staying on the island for the rest of your days. You will run the boat ashore and unload and proceed to use whatever parts of the boat you can.

Let's see... well, I guess I'd have alot of time on my hands, so I'd bring along every book that I wanted to read at some point... J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and I guess even some Charles Dickens, I suppose.  

I don't think I'd have enough boat space to fit enough Reese's pieces for the rest of my life, so I'd bring a transponder along with me that I could activate once in a while to have an airplane drop off the candy I so love.  (Not sure if I'd have toilet paper dropped from that plane, as well.)

I'd bring five or six solar powered hard drives with me, filled with nothing but the library of congress's music database.  

Then, after that... I guess I'd bring some fishing gear, and three or four border collies, and a Wilson volleyball, if I ever needed the companionship

Obviously bringing food, medicine, tools, etc. with him shows how his situation is different from the standard stranded on an island scenario

1. An average sized hammer. For pounding things together or apart.

2. A shovel. For digging and so forth.

3. A sharp, large knife.Machete For cutting vegatation, food prep, self-defense.

4. An axe to chop larger lumber and so forth.

5. A Leatherman-type multi-tool to assist with some of the other tasks that will most likely come up.
