You DONT really believe that we EVER visited the moon do you?

My friends and I were discussing how the government really wants you to buy into everything they present to us, including that one time we "allegedly" landed on the moon. What are your serious opinions, Do you really think we the US landed on the moon or just a hoax/stunt filmed somewhere in open area?

You obviously weren't around during the Apollo Program. There is far too much to possibly fake, for very little value. Of course it is all true. We were in a space race with the Soviet Union at the time, who had satellites and space ships, as well as telescopes and other means, to easilt disprove the Apollo missions. Why didn't they? Do you thnk they wanted to lose the space race? Of course not. Doubting the Apollo missions does a great disservice to the astronauts (Apollo 1) that died, as well as all the others who worked so hard to accomplish a feat, with the technology availible at the time, that has not since been repeated.

A bit of advice: Conspiracy theories are usually insane.

If we did it once why wouldn't we continue, I am more interested in why we spend trillons of dollars each yera on space exploration while our country is going into recession, DO THEY KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T !!!!DO WE NEED SOMEWHERE ELSE TO LIVE!!!

What the h**l is up with people's problems with the government? Do you seriously feel that you have to be that much of a rebel just to fit in that you won't believe anything they say. I bet you'd argue if the government said the sky was blue.

Well, I certainly don't have enough evidence to dispute or disprove the claim that US astronauts landed on the moon. Of course nothing can ever absolutely be proven without leaving at least a shred of doubt. I am myself a skeptic, but the flipside to being a skeptic is to also accept sufficient evidence when it's presented to you. Do I really believe we EVER visited the moon? We can split an atom, we can cure deadly diseases, and given the fact that the moon really isn't that far away from Earth, I believe that a space shuttle would be capable of carrying human beings to the moon. I'm just adding 2 and 2 here. The evidence to suggest that man was capable of landing on the moon in 1969 seems to be sufficient enough to me.

ya I also think that as if you see the video,the flag is waving but there is no air on moon. I also think it was just  a publicity stunt to beat Russia as  they just became 1st to go in space and launch sattelite..

at first the US failed to and faked it because it would be embarassing to the other countries but after that the US really did.. look how high tech the world is...

My Grannie never believed it at the time and she was a wry old bird with a lot of common so I have an open mind about it.

To be honest it doesn't bother me one way or the other - It didnt happen on April 1st did it?

I love to listen to many conspiracy theories and try to research them (aka - not going to a wiki,  but instead going to a library or doing real research) and then making up my mind if something is true or false.  I have an affinity towards three things in the world:  space, architecture and design.

I can say that I 100% believe we have yet to go to the moon.  It was (again, imo) a publicity stunt to prove our superiority over the Russian cosmonaut program.  I hate to tell people, but things just don't add up - it simply wasn't possible at that time.

To further, I mean, why build an international space station when you can do a moon base?
