You Mind Me lands victory in the Pall Mall Final
You Mind Me, completed his hat-trick by winning the Ladbrokes Pall Mall Final here at Oxford racecourse on Tuesday, June 19.
In the £8,000 Open Race, the F. Taylor trained black and white dog ran as the joint favourite with, Brittons Empire, who finished fourth. This hound was also the defending champion of the event.
On the flat course of 450 metres, the three-year-old veteran hound had a neck-to-neck clash with, Smart Bid. The C. Allsopp trained black dog demonstrated enough resistance, and even took the lead on some occasions, but he could not assert his dominance throughout the race.
However, the duel between these the two hounds filled the event with thrill, which culminated into a pulsating finish.
You Mind Me took 26.89 seconds to reach the finish line followed by Smart Bid, who lagged just a length behind, with a final time of 26.97 seconds.
The third top spot was secured by, Farloe Mysterio, who consumed 27.11 seconds to complete the distance.
With Brittons Empire finishing fourth, Aherlow Shaw and Dromana Max finished 5th and 6th, respectively.
You Mind Me earned immense applause both from his trainer and the spectators, who attended the high-profile event. During the post-race prize distribution ceremony, Taylor dedicated the victory to the Physio Ron Mills, who enabled the dog to run after incurring injuries.
Prior to this epic feat, You Mind Me had gained a grand triumph each on June 7 and 14. He also bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs during April and May.
Overall, the son of Bit Chili, out of Miss Shauna, has not been a consistent runner in his career. However, he has achieved some notable marks that distinguish him from the other greyhounds.
Now, the dashing dog is ready to test his racing credentials in the William Hill Classic race that will be held at Sunderland. He is expected to capitalise well on his winning form to notch Pall Mall the title.
You Mind Me will surely get favourite tags for his future races. The trainer expects big performances from his skilled trainee.
