several minutes later, you notice a dark bruise over the area. After several days, the bruise disappears. How is this incident related to clooting?

  1. When you've bumped your leg, the tissue around that area has ruptured capillaries, allowing blood to seep in that region (hence the dark colour). It's not really blood clotting, but the change in colour may also have to do with the breakdown of the built-up hemoglobin in the red blood cells :)
