You are forced into becoming an assassin!

and the forcer tells you you have to steal a gun from a guard... the guard is awake.. what strategy would you partake?

when he tries to shoot side step to the outside of the arm, wrap your left hand around his arm and your right hand on the gun with the webbing of your hand in between the hammer and the ignitor. bend it toward him and that should dislocate his finger if he resists.
