  1. I know the first part you can use the right-hand rule.  U is your first vector and the second is V and  counterclock-wise from it, therefore, the vector u x v is pointing down.

    I don't know for sure, but I think you can say it's |u||v|sin45 which I think is like 10/root 2

    but i'm probably mistaken.
