You are the owner of the Giants. How much of Zito's contract are you willing to eat to get rid of him?

You're going have to eat some of it because we all know that no one in their right mind is going to take him straight up.

7 years at 18 million a year 126 miliion total.

None. It won't happen in the million years, they've already stated they're not going to eat any of his contract to trade him and no one will pay that ridiculous amount. They're stuck with him no matter what happens.

in hindsight, it appears to have been a bad deal, but what if next year zito wins twenty? If i own the giants, i keep zito and hope. With the NL west the way it is, zito could still be a factor in the future. And all those who wish to dump barry, what if it's done and he wins twenty for someone else? Giants fans would scream bloody murder. I'm not a giants fan, but i do feel their pain.

I would honestly eat as much as I had to just to get rid of him, talk about the biggest disappointment ever. Wow he sucks, what happened to him? He is a virus on that team.

I would require the new taker eats 50% of his current contract, or I'd keep that lousy over-acheiver on my team.

You would have to eat 75% at least, if you can get anyone to take him at all.  He's a poor pitcher at this point.  If he was making minimum salary, he might be out of the majors right now.

wow that much left still?? i feel for the giants (and zito too--had a great career going until the last few years)

if i am the giants organization i eat 4 years of that contract, so about 70 Million..i take at least 2 pitching prospects from whoever wants his contract--and hopefully those prospects can develop and be MLB ready in 2-3 years

it would be a tough few years but i think thats how you deal with a major problem
