You back out of your driveway every morning, but you don't really bother to look in the rear-view mirror...?

It's Monday morning. You back out and drive to work.

Your neighbor, Big Bird, also doesn't bother to look when he backs out of his driveway. Today, Grover is tying his shoe and Big Bird runs him over.

Oscar looks in his rear-view mirror every day while backing out, but today an alarming news story happens to distract him. Unfortunately, Elmo was playing hide-and-seek in the bushes, and when he jumps out Oscar runs him over.

Out of your, Big Bird's, and Oscar's actions on Monday, is one or more worse than the others?

In any sort of philosophical or moral question, I'm going to have to side with Oscar.  Even though I can't imagine his surly self being alarmed by anything on the news.

It's rumored that Big Bird had a huge ego off-camera and a bit of a drinking problem.  He was probably hung over and not paying attention.  Although he was always good to his fans.

In other words, is careless Oscar or reckless Big Bird worse?

Reckless Big Bird is slightly more worse than careless Oscar, but we mustn't forget Grover and Elmo were also culprits in these Monday morning actions.
