  1. Some states require notification and have deadlines.  You need to speak to HSLDA or view their website for your specific state laws.

  2. Each state has its own laws and requirements, and you need to follow the law of whichever state you live in.  Homeschooling is legal in all 50 states, however it's not something to try on a whim.

In most states, yes - you can pull your child and start homeschooling at any time, as long as you've followed the correct procedure for that state.  In elementary and middle school, you can generally enroll your child at any time, though it's easier to do so at semester break.  In high school, it depends on that school's requirements - high schools can choose whether or not to accept a homeschooler's previously earned credits.

  3. For the most part, yes. Check out HSLDA.org for specifics in your state.

  4. No, you should first look at the laws in your state/community. Some require that you register your child to a public school, some require you follow a program or do some tests. Some require some supervision.

The best way is to ask at the school board, the local library or a local homeschool support group.

    Good luck

  5. Go to www.hslda.org and check into the laws in your state.   That's the best way to find out all the particulars.
