I am an American(don't hate me) but I love Australian rules. I am a huge football fan...the San Diego Chargers...but I love that game...I want to play...

  1. No, the ball has to have travelled from the boot at least ten metres to be able to mark it and obtain the corresponding free kick.

    If you're at a match, or watching it on TV when the umpire's carrying a microphone you'll sometimes hear him yell "touched".

    This refers to when a player kicks the ball and it's touched another player just after it left the boot - so anyone catching the ball won't be awarded a mark and/or if the ball goes through the goal posts it won't be awarded a goal, but be given a single point as a "behind" - meaning it was effectively tapped through the goals by hand.
