For those of you who do not believe in global warming, I am curious as to why? If you are comfortable can you please tell me when you decided it was false and why you think you believe it to be false.

  1. I absolutely, positively do.

I think where the problem comes in is this....

Folks keep hearing on the news, etc. that the earth is warming up...one degree at a time.

Folks don't realize the consequence of this and think..."oh, it's just one or two degrees.  No big deal."  They say..."oh, we've had the most snow this year" or " it's been the coldest winter"...how can there be global warming.  They don't realized that this is all part of it. They don't research or investigate the results of these few degrees.  It appears to me in my discussions with folks that it's the younger generations that have no knowledge.  I would think that this would be something they would now teach in the schools.  They don't.

    It's sad....and I'm scared.

I'm glad to see that others are scared, too!

  2. I believe the earth has been warming because of activity on the sun.

I now believe the earth is starting a cooling phase because of decrease in sun activity.

I train probability. And in 1998 we had the warmest year ( at least in my memory) I was deer hunting and all I needed to stay warm was a sweatshirt and baseball cap.

Since then it has been getting colder and this year during that time it was below zero. Imagine what deer hunting was like this year?

The laws of probability say that if indeed we were having global warming the years after 1998 would be getting warmer and at least a couple of them should have been quite a bit warmer but as you and I both know that was not the case. In fact this winter was cold ( and a lot colder than normal ) almost everywhere. Ice is coming back big time at both the north and south polls.

That is why I no longer believe that man can  cause or stop global warming.

  3. oh i belive it , however i don't think we can change it , or stop it from happening , it has and will be a long process and its the earths way of healing , and no scientist or person can stop this . we have messed with nature to much .

  4. I don't believe in global arming as it is presented to the public. We were once in an ice age and things warmed...things have continued to warm. Some warming is cyclical. The sun has warming and cooling trends. I know there are green house gasses  happening  in nature as well as being created mankind. Most of all I love al the go green stuff...I am all about taking care of our patch of earth, not wasting and conserving resources...finding renewble resources. I just don't think we can fix global warming. My husband doesn't think it's happening at all...he thinks weather patterns change naturally and a lot of the hype around global warming is misunderstood, misinterpreted, and shamelessly touted to farther political machines that have other hidden agendas ( as they cover our eyes with global warming) A lot of the stuff in the Al Gore film was proven incorrect....that's kind of shameful....ice sheering and all that... Why am I supposed to fear polar bear extinction due to global warming when polar bears are at all time record population highs?...theres a lot of hype going on and not a lot of common sense.

  5. Earth's temperature changes. Have you heard of the Ice Age?

It heated back up. We're fine.

  6. If you believe in global warming, you are indeed religious. I believe global warming is happening though.

  7. Well, it's a big issue.  I believe in it, but I am 100% that humans have had little or no impact on global warming/cooling.  look at global history:  it's done it tons of times.  people are just panicking because natural global warming/cooling hasn't happened in the last several thousand years.  so basically it's happened before, it will happen again, and there's nothing i can do to stop it.

  8. of course!!! i believe in global warming and i think that all people around the world must know about it!!!! we are destroying our home...sometimes when i am walking along the street i see how the filthy people throw rubbish and waste the street!!! how is it possible! we must to stopping this problem...i am an ecologist person and you????????

  9. Global warming has been happening for millions of years. The reason why everyone is so aware of it today is due to modern technology such as the Internet and TV and radio. A thousand years before all that technology existed people used to think the gods were angry and that they were being punished with the effects of the then global warming. Global warming isn't false it exists but it will eventually pass. All it is a violent phase that the earth goes through as it has done so all throughout history.

  10. Because, if you look at the facts, it isn't true. If you take 1988 as your time point, the earth has gotten COOLER, and if you take 2003 as a time point, the temperature has plateaued.Oh, and because Al Gore is a rotten liar.

  11. im not sure if its 100% true but scientist apparently say that the earth is warming up because the sun is getting hotter. its not just the earth thats warming up its the entire solar system.

I think this is a definite possibility.

  12. I believe in global warming but my mother used to not before I talked some sense into her. She's very right wing and just thought that leftwingers were lying to her bottom line.

  13. I am not sure about the climate, but CO2 doesn't have anything to do with it. In the 1830s, coal consumption was 200million tons per year. Now it is 6 000 million tons. The result? LOWER CO2 levels. 440  ppm in the 1830s and 1940s; 383 ppm today. Whatever else we may be doing, we are not affecting CO2 levels.

  14. why are only people who realize Global warming exist answering this question ,has the cat got the skeptics tongue

this question was specifically for them.

this is what i think so i also do not really belong here either.

  15. I think it is true. And I also think it is a natural occurence caused mostly by the sun. But humans also contribute to the factor.

  16. i do believe it but honestly its cold up here. my car warms up faster than this someone crank up the nob on the global heater. burrr hurry up already lol

  17. i thought this was the most interesting question.

    still do.

    interesting correlation.

(and they get to vote !!!!! *sniff*sniff*)

  18. take them on a trip to any of the AMERICA's national park with glacier on it.....(or Canadian's Banff national park)

They will see all the marks of where glaciers use to be 10,20,30,40,50, 60 years ago...each year, it's pulling back.. more and more and more and more back.......WALK them thru the markers.

It will be sad to see no ice at Banff one day.  =(

The Athabasca Glacier is one of the six principal toes of the Columbia Icefield, located in the Canadian Rockies. Due to the warming climate, the glacier has receded more than 1.5 km in the past 125 years and lost over half of its volume.

Between the years 1893 and 1953, Saskatchewan Glacier had retreated a distance of 1,364 metres (4,474 ft), with the rate of retreat between the years 1948 and 1953 averaging 55 metres (180 ft) per year.
