Beautiful Daydream

By Semper Fi Reborn

I ran up one side of the rainbow

And touched the sun

I swam down a waterfall

All for fun

I used the moon as cheese dip

For a party on Mars

I made a giant slingshot

For shooting stars

I wrestled a Bigfoot

Cause he was being a pest

I gave the name Untouchable

To Elliot Ness

I've had more adventures

And many themes

All throughout my life

I've had beautiful daydreams

  1. When my feet touch the ground again,  I'll say thanks for the lovely daydream voyage.

  2. I mostly daydream about being rich, or I change decisions I've already made, to something else. You know the "what if?" thing. Well, I do the what ifs, in my head. I think I should write a soap opera, my daydreams contain lots of drama, lol

  3. Hey are you published?

  4. That's a really fun poem!  You DO have beautiful daydreams.  Thanks for sharing them; you made me hungry for nachos with cheese dip!  :)

  5. Wonderful adventures going on in there, Semper!

The giant eraser says I should spell your name 'Simper.'....I don't think so!

  6. This is a lovely day-dreamy poem.  I love the imagery, but I especially like the idea of wrestling Bigfoot because it reminded me of those beef jerky commercials where people tease Bigfoot and he gets even...they are so funny.  Besides, I'm all about wrestling/grappling.  I have a brown belt in Judo...yep, that's right, I can take you down...hehehe.  Just playing...I really do have a brown belt in Judo, but I don't know if I could take you down...that part was the joke. You are a Marine after all.   Okay, I'm done.  I love your poem :)

Addition:  As a child my mind was always in space and never where it was supposed to be.  It's not that I couldn't concentrate, but I much preferred what was going on inside my head.  I was never allowed to sit next to a window at school.    It seemed everyones mantra was "get your head out of the clouds"  I love to daydream and I still do.

You have to be careful driving while daydreaming though...this morning I ended several miles past my destination and wasn't even sure how I got there.  Bad...I'm glad there is no law against D.W.D  ;)

  10. Well I couldn't take you or Sptfyr down...Although I am wearing a black belt...sorry, couldn't resist. Personally, and this is probably just me, I don't remember having a lot daydreams, I still don't. I guess my mind is always too busy thinking in the here and the now, but it sounds like a delightfully peaceful place, and I hope I get to go there someday. Thank you for this poem...I guess it's like a vicarious daydream. Thank you, Semper.
