Hi, My father was a diabetic. I is the pancreas not producing enough insulinm to control blood sugar. A diabetic person needs to check their blood sugar level oftem. If it is too high it can damage oegans. If too low it can cause weakness/fainting, leading to diabetic coma.

Over time my Dad lost feeling in his feet. He had injuries to his feet that he couldn't feel. This eventually led to him having 3 toes amputated. If your Dad is careful with his diet and the regeme of blood testing etc, he will be fine.
