You gotta be kidding me. Computer problems. I have no sound anymore. But my speakers are fine. ?

I put my tower on top of my desk, before it was on the floor, i unplugged everything and plugged it back in. Now it says i dont have some hardware installed. Like it tells me to open control panel and add hardware, it was fine an hour ago. What the **** happened!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

  1. when you remove USB speakers or any other USB device, and put them back in on a different USB slot, Windows will treat it as a new hardware.

    Good news is, you dont need the driver CDs to install the hardware this time as they are already present in your windows System folder. Just go through the installation process activated by windows and ask it to look for the driver in the  windows "system" or "system32" directory


  2. Try System Restore to a day ago.

  3. Somehow, it seems like you lost your sound drivers.

    You will need to re-install this and add the hardware back through device manager or add hardware in the control panel.

    Sorry this happened to you.

    EDIT: Just restore back to before you moved the tower from the ground to the top.

  4. You may want to go into your control panel, and go to sounds, and make sure your not on mute, or your volume is not down.  Sometimes that happens, and I don't know why.  Or, make sure the speakers, are on instead of your desktop speakers, when you go into sounds.
