FOR THOSE WHO DON"T KNOW WHO HE IS:

he is the replacement spinner for Stuart MacGill, and is said to be the spin future for Australia. I personally think he isn't going to be able to have a chance, but I want to know what you guys think.

  1. yes

  2. If he can get to the new standard that Shane Warne set for wrist-spinners (no bad balls EVER), then he'll make it. Otherwise he'll be unfairly compared to Warne and he won't get over that.

People forget that before Warne, wrist-spinners used to go at 4-6 runs per over on good pitches (a major reason that wrist-spin declined outside of the sub-continent). Stuart McGill has often been unfairly criticised for just that, and Casson is likely to suffer the same fate. I don't think that the Aussies have a good enough specialist spinner to play at the moment; they'd be better off with four specialist seamers and Symonds & Clarke taking care of the spin bowling when needed.

  3. The India tour could either make him or break him. His temperament will be on test.

  4. havent  seen him bowl yet, but if he has been selected to replace McGill then I think he must have something going for him

  5. Don't see why not. They all had to start somewhere.
