  1. The NSA and CIA are not watching United States Citizens.

The NSA and CIA are only involved in foreign intelligence, not domestic intelligence.

  2. Bob Dole

  3. Unless you are criminal or a terrorist I am sure you have nothing to worry about.

  4. The most sinister thing that the CIA is involved in is taking the rap for things that never occur, or are done by the NSA.

Here is the long and short of it...the NSA maintains a gadget called a "Cray Computer".  Its huge.  It monitors every transmission--radio,. telegraph, telephone, fax, email, etc--on Earth, listening for 200 keywords (bomb, assassinate, kill, President, invade, etc) in every language.  Every transmission with one or more of these keywords is flagged.  Months later, an underpaid, overworked human analyst examines the transmission and ditches the harmless ones ("She da' bomb, yo" gets ditched, "I'm going to bomb the White House" gets more review).  If the transmission seems important, it is forwarded to other analysts, who will take appropriate measures.

Fortunately, even W is not arrogant enough to think that he can outlaw free speech, and American citizens can say almost anything that they want without fear.  No matter who is listening.

  5. sure there are oversight comittees but essencially they run without review.

  6. 1 under UN law it is illegal for any intelligence agency to keep tabs on innocent members of its own country

    2. NSA is a Signals Intelligence agency.

    3. CIA does jack **** in America, that's the FBI's jurisdiction

    4. the overseeing body watches the intel agencies, eg. JIC in US

they arn't watching you. if they were, do you think they'd let you post this?

  7. We have the courts to do that for us.   What have you done to turn their attention on you???

  8. The House Judiciary Committee is responsible for making sure the President does not break the laws that Congress writes, and the House Intelligence Committee is responsible for overseeing intelligence.

But the Bush administration claims it has the right not to talk to the House Judiciary Committee and the House Intelligence Committee.

The answer is "Nobody"  Plus they lied to JFK about the Bay of Pigs, and nobody cared.

  9. The Space Aliens

  10. Unfortunately no one. We are living in the world of "V for Vendetta".

  11. They always s***w up.

There is no need to worry about the use of intelligence while Bush is in.

He tells them what he wants to hear so there is no need for them to do any work at all.

By the time they are required to think again it will be too late and they will have forgotten how to.

As for who is watching them, true government agencies should be accountable to the people they serve, which is the electorate, we need to pull them into line because if they are not serving us we should get rid of them. People power is the way to fix them
