You know on like law and order they bring a witness in and they ask the person to take their time and choose who it was carefully?

Well for blind people; do you think they have voice lineups?

Like recordings of a couple peoples voices and the blind person has to identify the voice?

Do they do that?

  1. yes, and smell tests, if the criminal had an order.

  2. I have held voice line ups and walking (gait) line ups. The voice line ups have always been live, not recorded. Not just for the blind but also for victims or witnesses that only heard a voice and did not see the offender.

Like a regular line up or photo array ID it is the totality of the evidence not just a single event that shows you have the  right bad guy

  3. Never "heard" of a "voice line-up".

Anymore, the actual physical line-ups are rare.  With computers being what they are, it is much easier to prepare a photo montage to show the victim.

Of course, it is much more dramatic on television to have everyone there in person.
