Question:

You know the skinny girls with the fast metabolism?

You know the ones.. that can eat whatever they want a not gain weight. How do I get a metabolism like that? Is it actually possible to speed it up that much??

  2. I knew a girl who ate heaps and was like a size 6, she played sport from a young age. I think that is the key, working your metabolism from the word go. So if you ever have children, get them into sport and to be active.

    It could just be the way your genes are...

    I don't think you can change it, just watch what you eat.

    I hardly ever exercise, but I watch the meal portions and only try and eat when I'm actually hungry.

    one of my friends eats ten times more than me and is ten times smaller than me... iT irks me

    but she has a great metobolism... she was born with it

    people like us... have to workout- drinking water- freezing cold water will rev it up and lots of cardio also- and during cardio it will also get rid of fat... its a win win

    you got to eat stuff like veggies also

    eat every three to four hours- but the meals have to be very small- PORTION CONTROL : )

  5. Exercising more often increases the metabolism.

    Unfortunately, girls are usually born with a slower metabolism that guys.

    And as if that wasn't bad enough, check this guy out. He can eat anything he wants, as much as he wants, and NEVER gain weight.

    He's #2 on the list.

  7. I'm one of those skinny girls with the fast matabolism. I love it, I abuse it... But the answer to your question... I don't think you can change your metabolism, and if you can I wouldn't think you could change it by much. But if it makes you feel better, their metabolism with catch up with them one day and then they'll have to watch what they eat.

    If you want to eat whatever you wish, just do some more exercise to burn it off... Its not that hard and can be quite enjoyable!

  8. The good news is that there are 12 ways you can "boost" your metabolism! The more of these you're able to incorporate into your life, the more you'll boost your metabolism. That means you'll be expending ("burning") more calories 24 hours a day!

    Always eat breakfast! Skipping breakfast sends the message to your body that you're starving because you haven't had food in 18+ hours. As a protective mechanism, your metabolism slows down. Food, especially complex carbohydrates, fuels your metabolism.

    Eat earlier in the day! Research has demonstrated that you can lose weight simply by eating a substantial breakfast and lunch, and a light dinner. Dinner should be eaten as early as possible, preferably at least four hours before bedtime.

    Never eat less than 1200 calories per day! Less than 1200 is usually not enough to support your basal metabolism and thus will slow your metabolism.

    Snack frequently! Complex carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables, and grains) fuel your metabolism. Also, snacking prevents you from becoming too hungry. The hungrier you are, the less control you have over what and how much you eat.

    Eat more carbohydrates (food from plants), and less fat (food from many animals and other food with added fat)! Carbohydrates boost your metabolism and have fewer calories per weight than fat.

    Do some type of aerobic exercise (walking, jogging, swimming, stationary cycling, aerobic dancing, etc.) on a daily basis (preferably in the morning)! Forget this twice-a-week stuff. Our bodies were designed to be active on a daily basis! When we are, our metabolism soars!

    In addition to your regular aerobic exercise, take a brisk 10 to 15 minute walk at lunch or in the evening. This serves to boost your metabolism even more!

    . Tone your muscles with weight training three days per week. Toned muscles send your metabolism through the roof. Do it!

    Look for situations to be active. Park as far from the store as you can rather than looking for the closest parking spot. Use the stairs rather than the elevator, a broom rather than a blower, etc. Look for the "hard" way to do things!

    Avoid alcohol! Alcohol depresses your metabolism and stimulates your appetite.

    Drink 60+ ounces of water a day. Your metabolism needs plenty water to function properly. Carry a bottle of water with you and drink frequently throughout the day.

    Avoid the"3 P's".....pills, powders, and potions! There are NO quick fixes!


  9. yeah, im like tht. but its not all it's cracked up to be, in my opinion.

    I would loveee to be bigger, but i end up feeling bloated

    stuffing my face in effort to be. :(

    but i honestly think stick-looking girls are very unattractive.

  10. no. unfortunately those girls were born with it. I would know, both of my sisters are size zeros and I'm a size 8. and let me tell you it sucks watching them scarf down pizza and ice cream and whatever they want while I'm on my diet. IT SUCKS

  11. There are three body types...

    1. Ectomorph

    2. Mesomorph

    3. Endomorph

    You cannot change your body type.

    1.  Ectomorphs are the body type you described.  Long, lanky, not a bit of fat on their bones.  They are bony looking, and can eat anything and everything, and not gain a lb.  Though they are much envied, some of them don't like their body type because they wished they had more voluptuous curves like Scarlett Johansen, but will never get that.

    2.  Mesomorphs They are the muscular looking ones.  They don't look bony, but they aren't fatty.  They look almost athletic.  They are the perfect body type, because they aren't too fat or too skinny.  

    3.  Endomorphs  These are the people that can never seem to lose weight.  They are puffy and overweight.  They eat a tic tac and they gain weight.

    If you want to know more about these body types, do a search online with those words.  Then you can find out which one you are.

    You probably are not an ectomorph, and unfortunately, you never will be.  But why not embrace that beautiful body of yours?  You can speed up your metabolism with exercise and healthy diet, but you can never achieve that long lanky look, because of your genetic makeup.  I am a mesomorph, and I used to envy ectomorphs, but I love my body now, because I actually have curves.  In time, you will learn to love your body, the more you learn.

  12. It's a complete myth they can eat whatever they want. They just don't eat (or are sick afterwards). It's physiologically impossible to eat large amounts of food long term and stay thin.
