  1. Not eating after "x" time of night for fat loss is one of the big myths with no science behind it.  The problem with not eating anything several hours before bed is that you're extending the already catabolic fast of sleep by that amount of time.

The problem people run into with nighttime eating, however, are the food choices.  Foods should be high protein, moderate fat and low GI carbs (or no carbs).  This means staying away from the highly processed foods, especially carbs, such as snack foods and desserts, etc..  Also, a person needs to be careful not to exceed their daily caloric requirements.

Good late night snacks would include a protein shake, lean meats (as long as they don't tend to keep you awake as it does with some people), cottage cheese, whole unsalted nuts like almonds, etc..  Low GI foods do not carry with them the insulin spike that is detrimental to fat loss.

  2. I would say no later than 9 o'clock.

  3. I thought it was not to eat Later than 8pm.

(B-T-W that is a Great idea for losing weight from, 'Snacking'--8pm)

  4. thats a stupid myth...as long as you dont eat at least 2 hours before going to sleep you cant gain any fat...
