You say that only the "rich" get Loopholes?

I love these posts where people "hate" the rich because they "get" all these loopholes to avoid paying their taxes.

DO YOU KNOW that Bill Gates gets the same tax forms in the mail as Joe Janitor? The DIFFERENCE is that Gates has structured his life so that he TAKES ADVANTAGES of the SAME opportunities that all of us have as well.

Are you starting businesses?

Are you investing in real estate?

Are you hiring "economically disadvantaged" kids?

Are you buying tax free bonds?

Are you living off short term capital gains instead of a "pay check"?

Don't hate these people! Don't you think you should be EMULATING them instead?

Well, Joe Janitor kind of needs to use all of his money to pay his rent, buy food for his family, pay the utilities, maybe pay for Joe Jr's braces, or for little Suzy to maybe have clothes that didn't come from Goodwill to start the school year. Not much left to do any of the things you listed.

So I have the ability to pay zero taxes, or make a profit off taxes?  My biggest complaint isn't people, it is businesses.

What it all comes down to is that most rich people get that way and say that why by making smart financial decisions, including taking any advantage they can find.

If I can take advantage of it, it's' a valid deduction. If YOU can take advantage of it and I can't , it's a tax loophole.
