Question:

You see a ghost, blink your eyes, and its gone?

I've read many ghost encounters at the shadowlands web site. Often someone sees a ghost, or sees one out of the corner of their eye, or in a mirror....and they turn their heads or blink and its gone.

This made me wonder.....maybe with certain people, under the right circumstances, the liquid film on the eye becomes the exact thickness needed for spirits to be seen. However, as soon as they blink, the thickness of the eye film is reset, so the spirit disappears. I know this is pretty far out there, but does it make sense?

My idea is maybe a certain eye film thickness filters some spectrum of light out, or allows some spectrum of light in....in such a way that allows spirits to be seen. If there's some truth to this, I don't know if it would even be possible to test it. But I thought I'd toss it out there and see what y'all think.

  1. This is another idea. Tonight I watched Celestine Prophecy. They mentioned "putting out energy". Maybe spirits are able to "put out energy" when they want to..if they've developed to that level. If they want to be seen...I think they could do that. (Just an idea). I think your idea is really interesting. I know nothing about eyeballs..so I can't comment on it.

  2. If this was the case you would be able to set your camera or other light recording device to gain an image or measure the light being emitted or reflected.

Ever consider that you might catch a glimpse of a shadow or movement of light and imagine that it's a ghost?

  3. In my opinion, that would be a good theory. Somehow our brains could perceive the apparition if the conditions were right as the spirit manifested. Maybe they can "appear" at the same frequency that our dream images do, hence the reason so many people have "seen" spirits upon waking (would make your eye film theory even more appealing ) and thought they were dreaming or something was actually there.

  4. What people usually see out of the corner of their eyes can be explained by conventional science. The explanation is floaters in the eyes. I have included a link below.

You are correct in your speculation that the liquid in the eye is involved with some experiences.

Many paranormal investigators use or have used infrared filters to allow in only certain spectrums of light, filters that only allow in ultra violet light have also been used. The liquid in your eyes do not filter out or only allow in any particular spectrum of light that is normally invisible to us.

I don't have the link or reference but I do know that Richard Wiseman investigated a castle that was reported to be haunted and found a ceiling fan that was vibrating at a frequency that had a direct effect on the eyeball and thus established at least a possible (if not the) explanation for people's experiences at the castle. Perhaps someone has a link to that investigation.

  6. It's possible to make films that filter certain wavelengths out, and in fact such filters are very common. If you filter out wavelengths of visible light, you end up with colored filters. But nobody has ever reported seeing spirits when looking through a filter. An object is visible because it absorbs certain wavelengths of light; if other wavelengths are present, that doesn't mask the absence of the adsorbed wavelengths. So a filter type of mechanism wouldn't seem to allow for what you're proposing.

However, it's good that you're trying to think scientifically about this. We need more of that. Kudos to you for your effort.

  7. Well, I don't think there's any special film on the eyes, I think it has more ot do with focus and light, I think you're right on regarding the spectrum of light that the eye can see. Being sensitive to spirits I do know that my angels can help me to vibrate at a higher frequency, one where I'm better able to communicate with them. And I've noticed that when they do this, my vision shifts somehow. It's like being able to see the energy within the air itself. I tend to see rainbows, like how a soap bubble looks you know? It's clear but there's like a prism effect to it where you can see a rainbow within it? I know that sounds nuts, but I have caught the edges of their wings as they move past me, or the outline of a spirit walking into the room. And it works better if I just let my focus go, so the moment I focus and try to see it, I don't see it anymore.

And I know that I wasn't born with this, it's something my guides have been slowly adjusting, through my chakras, over the last several years.

I also know that I have visions that come through my 3rd eye (the brow chakra), where I can close my eyes and still see the room in front of me (not like a memory picture, WAY clearer than that).

I know that spirits CAN manifest but it takes quite a bit of energy for them to do it, so they can't do it for very long.

Anyway, my 2 cents, for whatever it's worth.
