  1. Whenever I see best drummer around, it amazes me that its always Neil peart thats a consensus pick.

palmer is good, but I say the greatest is Buddy Rich...or Dave Weckl

edit:..of course Buddy rich isn't alive, so i guess technically he isn't "around"

  2. The best is Phil Ehart and most will never have heard of him.

  3. Darrin Pfeiffer. Best drummer ever.

    Listen to superman by goldfinger.

  4. no, I still don't think so. here are a few reasons why (mostly but not quite all jazz):

  5. quin alman is the greatest drummer, ever.

    homie.

  6. Carl Palmer is one of the best drummers around, along with Neil Peart.  Don't forget Keith Moon and John Bonham (RIP).

  7. Dude -- John Bonham was and will always be the best rock drummer ever.  He played lead and rhythm at the same time.

  8. I think He is pretty much, except for Neal Peart, and possibly Carmine Appice.

    Quin whotheheck? Fail.

  9. Of course I do. I have done since I first heard his solo in a live version of "Fanfare for the Common Man"

I also really like Stephen Morris' (Joy Division/New Order) mechanical drumming.

  10. Tron thank god you agree with me. It seemed like I was the only one who recognized Buddy Rich as the best there for awhile.

My personal favorite is Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall though.
