  1. no, you won't get arrested for that..

    ^_^

  2. There is no law anywhere  in the world  that says, one would be arrested for walking when the national anthem is played.  Not even in US.

But at least you have to show respect.

  3. technically, you can be arrested and/or fined for disrespecting the flag.

In the heraldic code of the Philippines:

Section 2 states: "Reverence and respect shall at all times be accorded the flag, the anthem, and other national symbols which embody the national ideals and traditions and which express the principles of sovereignty and national solidarity. "

Section 21, gives an idea of the proper way to act: "During the flag-raising ceremony, the assembly shall stand in formation facing the flag. At the moment the first note of the anthem is heard, everyone in the premises shall come to attention; moving vehicles shall stop. All persons present shall place their right palms over their chests, those with hats shall uncover; while those in military, scouting, security guard, and citizens military training uniforms shall give the salute prescribed by their regulations, which salute shall be completed upon the last note of the anthem."

and section 50 outlines the penalties: "Any person or juridical entity which violates any of the provisions of this Act shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than Five thousand pesos (P5,000) nor more than Twenty thousand pesos (P20,000), or by imprisonment for not more than one (1) year, or both such fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court: Provided, That for any second and additional offenses, both fine and imprisonment shall always be imposed: Provided, further, That in case the violation is committed by a juridical person, its President or Chief Executive Officer thereof shall be liable. "

in practice.... well better safe, than sorry. hope this helps

  4. i got arrested for having s*x in luneta, behind the monument, with one of the guards.  and the national anthem wasn't even on!

  5. i definitely agree with Still.

  6. you won't get arrested but be prepared to be sneered at. where is sense of respect for our flag?

  7. Actually, most would probably ignore you, but I think you could be arrested especially if you are Filipino, and someone upstanding and truly patriotic catches you.  I am not sure about the exact specifics of the law though, but I saw a news report on TV some years ago wherein a security guard arrested a moviegoer for failing to stand for the National Anthem.

  8. maybe worst, the authorities may put other charges on you not different with those of the prostitutes, and getting a lawyer would cost you more.. or spend some time,(not more than a day in prison-such inconvenience)

  9. You wont get arrested but only barbarians will not stop walking while the National Anthem is played.

  10. maybe if you're not crossing the street.

  11. there's no law that says so but i'd love to see able-bodied people arrested for not standing up when Lupang Hinirang is being played in movie houses.

  12. I think no if the one walking is insane/stupid/brainless, etc.....

  13. no... that would be probably in a communist country...

  14. hindi yata eh.......baka lang try mo nga
