Do privateers stil cannibalise their machines,is there any advantage?e.g.Triton,the featherbeds were the best (at the time),though I had a Tribsa.is it even possible today?

Not in top level racing, but in club racing sure. Perhaps taking an fzr400 chassis stuffing in a rz350 motor, using the latest r6 wheels to run in say 450 superbike class.

I expect the possibilities are still around for the man who wants to make his machine his own,but I have a feeling these days that the price would be very high. Unlike back in the day when you could make your own parts in the back shed.

Most people these days don't know what machine tools are,or oily hands.
