With just seven games left, Montpellier Herault duo Younes Belhanda and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Henri-Bedimo-c16040 are excited by the prospect of fighting Paris Saint-Germain for the Ligue 1 Championelle
With seven games left to play for, the advantage is with Montpellier Herault who lead the Ligue 1 standings. Paris Saint-Germain are three points behind La Paillade who recently beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 at the Stade Velodrome.
However, the title race is far from over and anything can happen in the final furlong. Furthermore, Rene Girard’s side are to face the likes of Toulouse, Stade Rennais and LOSC Lille in their final few games which means that anyone can win the league.
PSG on the other hand, have a tough list of fixtures as well. First up, Les Parisiens face a tricky tie away to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AJ-Auxerre-c38247 this Saturday and any slip up could cost Carlo Ancelotti’s side dear.
Pressure is on Montpellier as well who have never become Ligue 1 champions. However, for the likes of Henri Bedimo and Younes Belhanda, the race for the title is an enjoyable prospect.
“If we get there (be champions), it will be beautiful, otherwise we would have given everything. We will try to remain sturdy and continue to impose our style of play, it will be a war of nerves,” says Bedimo.
Younes Belhanda also echoes his teammate’s sentiments.
“We are ready to fight with Paris. If one is serious, we can go all the way,” says the Moroccan international who has been in fine form this season.
It appears that the PSG camp is somewhat less optimistic. Though they have assembled a good side, Carlo Ancelotti’s side is still far from a finished product.
“Now they (Montpellier) are three points ahead and their goal difference is almost four. It’ll be tight until the last moment and a lot can still happen. There are seven matches, we must win everything. If we lost the title, it would be a failure,” says
Milan Bisevac.
The serenity of Montpellier against the militancy of Paris, a rivalry may have been born in recent weeks and it is possible for the title to be decided on the very last day of the campaign.
