Younes Kaboul, the Tottenham Hotspur central defender, denied reports linking him with a move to Serie A side Juventus. The 25-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international revealed he was currently happy at White Hart Lane and was not looking for a move away.
Kaboul said while speaking to reporters:
“I am fine here with Tottenham. The manager trusts me and likes me to play for him. I am very well and settled here.”
Kaboul initially signed for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2007 for a fee of £8 million from Auxerre and quickly became a fan favourite. He made a total of 21 appearances in the Premier League and scored three goals before moving to Portsmouth.
He signed a long term, four year deal with Portsmouth where he made 50 appearances and scored five goals. However, it was announced in the January transfer window of 2010 that the defender would be returning to White Hart Lane.
The manager Harry Redknapp revealed the player had improved since then and was now a much better player now. However, the Spurs paid just £6.5 million to acquire his services for a second time, it was easier especially since Portsmouth were in the Championship.
Since then he had made 42 appearances in the Premier League, having established himself in the first team under Redknapp. Kaboul has even scored two goals and it is his impressive form which has linked him to the likes of Juventus and other European sides.
Kaboul revealed:
“Juventus is a great club and attractive. But, to be honest, I like it here at Spurs, so I am here and we are trying to fight until the end of the season to be challenging for the title and also for the Champions League positions.”
Kaboul revealed he was flattered by the interest and link with Juventus, but revealed he was happy with Tottenham Hotspur. He said he was happy with the fact that the Spurs were winning and were still competing for a place in Europe, which was the reason
why he did not wish to part ways with them just yet.
He continued:
“Hopefully we will achieve that because this league is a tough league.”
