Hi,

I have a 19 year old cousin visiting this summer.

So just picture yourself getting a free trip to Germany with someone willing to show you around for two weeks.

What would be the things you would love to do?

culture vs shopping

big city vs country side

Berlin vs Munich

What are the must sees in Germany?

Do you acutually know also places outside Bavaria or the former US occupied zone you would love to see and why?

Thanks for your help.

Ina

  1. I would do all of the things you suggested (countryside, city, shopping, culture etc.);  they all sound pretty cool!

  2. Besides all the sightseeing etc...just go out with her at night.

She would love things like the "Duesseldorfer Altstadt".

This is something Americans don't have...the way people get together drink beers (or whatever) and have fun and party all night long.....Everybody from America loved it when we took them there.

I also did with my American family a trip to the Northsea and we did a "Wattwanderung".

They were so amazed to walk on the bottom of the ocean to an island.....

    Look at this webpage: http://www.sh-tourist.de/touren/naturerl...

This was really, really fun for them and us. Actually it was adventurous and something you never forget.

  3. Well from experience. I would have to say there are numerous activities you can do. I highly recommend taking her Nuremberg. There is tons of shopping to do there (c&a) (H&M) (Whorl) (The Galleria) (tons mores...). It is fairly inexpensive to go shopping there, and is soo much fun. Especially if you take the train. I used to go shopping there all the time and loved every moment of it. Also if you want to go swimming, take her to Palm Beach also in Nuremberg. Take her to Rothenberg! Another amazing place-one of my favorite. The food there is good, and tons of historics with it-shopping, sight seeing and everything else you can name-a must see!! Berchtesgaden is also an amazing place. You have the Eagle's nest there. Also you have the deepest lake in Germany there-where you can take a lil day cruise down to Austria, or you can just go hiking down there-i know it sounds lame, but it is breathtakingly beautiful!! I promise you that. She has to see the Alps. If she is into clubbing there a also a few down in Nuremburg, and i am sure there are tons in Munich. Munich also has alot of fests and stuff so that would be a good place to check out. I love Bavaria personally. If you are close enough take her to Czech to go shopping-extremely  dirt cheap prices!!! It's not a long car ride, maybe 3 hours from Ansbach (i lived there for a while-grew up there). Completely worth it. If you want to-take her to Poland, if she likes the Polish Pottery. OR take her to France, or down to the Black Forest. If you want to make a little day trip, take her up to Pottenstein. There is tons to do there!! Try out the Rodel bahn there!! So much fun-rent a foot peddle boat out on the lake-lots of fun too. There is soo much to do. I highly recommend Munich, once again tons to do. Well hopefully she'll enjoy her trip and that you find my information useful. I would kill to go back to Germany again-i love it!!
