I'm a twenty-something Canadian woman with a BFA and a certificate in sewing arts, and I'd love to work or volunteer for theatre companies in Paris to gain experience in my field of costume design.

Are there some tricks to making it in a big expensive city, if you don't have a job lined up?

I'm fluent in French.

Any suggestions? Waitressing, maybe?

Merci!

  1. Spend 6 weeks and get a CELTA certificate. Basically it is a world wide recognized qualification to teach English as a second language. I teach in Moscow Russia and love it. I have a class (90 min) in the morning and one in the evening. My days are free to do as I please and the money is pretty good too.
