Young Kangaroo cricketers lack techniques, claims http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rodney-William-Marsh-c86419 – Cricket News Update
Rod http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362, the former Australian batsmen and the recently appointed manage of elite coaching development, recently opined that the Kangaroos are facing a lean patch due to lack of experience in a camp with unprepared youngsters.
Marsh opined that the younger players are not properly trained, which is a requirement to excel in International cricket. His solution is that club cricketers should be educated properly and must receive technical training before they are brought into the
national side.
The recent Australian debutants lack in all three departments, batting, bowling and fielding, and need proper training.
While speaking to the media today, Bacchus, who played 96 Test and 92 One Day International games during his international career, said, “When someone does run in and swing the ball, it becomes almost unfair because the batsmen don't know how to deal with
it. You have to learn to play the swinging ball because it is part of the art of batsmanship and to play the swinging ball, you need a good technique.”
Marsh has also pressed national and club coaches to pay special attention to the training and preparations of the players so that they can achieve their potential.
He said, “We just want to try and get to a stage where there are no excuses and that is covering every base, which is the development of coaches, which is part of my role now. In my opinion, technique is a problem and why it is a problem is anyone's guess.”
Rod Marsh, who was known as Iron Gloves due to his abilities behind the stumps, has advised the Kangaroo bowlers to bowl according to the conditions on offer at international playing venues. They should vary their line and length according to the pitch.
In his new role, Marsh will coordinate with the national team coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mickey-Arthur-c1969, the coaches of clubs, the Under-19s and the Under-17s, for the development of comprehensive and effective strategies to produce talented players for the Australian team.
The Aussies play the Indians in a 4-Test home series, starting on Boxing Day.
