I thought i would just open up a page for all us young mums to get everything off our chest! I hate it so much when people on here critisize us and tell us were immature! The worst ones are when young people ask what they should do because there pregnant and they all tell them to have an abortion! How wrong is that!!

Anyway let us all know what you think of all of the critisizing people on Yahoo Q&A

  1. I grew up in a neighborhood where girls younger than you have 2 kids or more and they're acting so stupid. A lot of them put themselves before their kids and that's what really pisses me off. They're still young and I hate it when they realize only after the fact that taking care of a baby is much harder than it seems. I actually knew a girl who had multiple abortions and still slept around. She was disgusting. I commend you and your partner for actually being mature and putting your child first because not many teens can do that, but in my opinion, having a child at 19 is too young.

I'm in college and I have a job. I know for a fact that I would flunk college if I had a child. I don't have enough money and my current job doesn't have medical coverage. It would emotionally get to me, as well. I am a worry-bug. I worry about my pets 24-7, how do you think I'll act once I'm away from my baby?

I want to at least graduate college before my first child. Right now, I know for a fact I am not ready to have a kid.

  2. Well, just about everyone's question I read that even mentions abortion everyone says don't have one. So I'm very interested in reading more than one response you might have that suggests these girls get abortions...

I missed what Vicky Pollard had to say.... :(

I have a story actually...made a girl feel really stupid for opening her mouth too! I was probably 17, and my older sister had just had a baby and so my mom and I went to the store with her baby. Well I was carrying her at the time, so yes...it looked like she was mine. But she could have been my moms to for that matter! Ya know? Anyway - My mom said something about not taking the cart out, and I wanted to so I didn't have to carry her all the way to the car...kids get heavy and I wasn't used to it! Haha...and the chick at the checkout was like, well you carried her for 9 months and you won't carry her to the car. I turned around and I said, actually I didn't. This is my neice but next time you open your mouth, maybe you should be sure what your talking about. She didn't say anything. Ahh!! So the one time I was out with a baby I got heck for it and she wasn't even my baby!!

And no one at work belives I'm 21, so I'm sure I'll get comments after my baby is born. :) 19w5d! :D It's a girl!

  3. There's nothing wrong with being a young mum.

I became a mum at 19 and it's the best thing that ever happened to me!

Those who criticise, obviously do so due to no experience...

  4. i am 22 and dont even want any children now... i hate to think i, of all people, could take care of another person right now... and i am married... i want to give a high five to any teen mom who can deal with all the b/s and dealing with rude ppl... and take care of a baby too.... U GO GIRLS!!!

  5. Well - it seems to me that you are using this question to critisise the people who answer your questions!!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, doesnt mean you have to agree with it.  Its called free speech.

  6. There is a reason why I waited until I was older to lose it. I know by then that I could afford to have a baby and I had my own health insurance. That way NOBODY else was paying. For example: most teens do not have jobs that have insurance or live on their own or even own their very own car. I did not want everyone else in the country who pays taxes, pay for my baby like we are paying for yours.

Sorry you don't want to hear the truth as to way people get mad about it.

  7. im 20 i understand what you mean after i had my son i fell pregnant straight after and me and my partner decised that we could cope with another straight after. if i was to put a question on here about this they would say you should of kept your legs shut but they dont understand what we have to go through to make the desction i would of kept it but ppl would slag me of saying im a slag and cant keep my legs shut. its always the older people that slag us off sayin things like some peole out there would love to have children but cant not bein horrible but i think thats got nothing to do with us .

there was a girl on here and someone told her to have abortion because she was young and other people kept sayin that an abortion isnt concepetion which i thought was bad x

  8. I'm not a mum, but I'd love to agree with you!!

I was a nanny when I was 18/19 to a three year old girl and a 1 year old boy.  I accepted that people would think I was a young mum.  But I wasn't prepared for how guilty I was made to feel.

The dirty looks got me angry, and actually made me feel proud to be out with the kids.  But one thing REALLY annoyed me....

I was sat in a coffee shop with them both.  They were being well behaved, just sat there having a drink.  No tears, no noisiness, the 3-year-old was having a chat with me, nothing to complain about.  Then a woman comes over to me and out of nowhere says "Excuse me."  "Yes?"  "You're too young to be a mum!".  I was so speechless I just said "Um...I'm not." and just gawped at her, absolutely disgusted.  & she continued saying "I was going to say!  You've got two kids and look about 16!" and I was just stuttering with shock so could only make out "I'm 19." Haha...and she left the place.  I was shaking with anger.

But ever since that moment, I've actually got admiration for young parents!!  If you can look after your kids, if you work hard to help them have the best childhood possible, if you teach them how to behave and put them first in front of you, you have my praises.  Age is absolutely nothing to do with child care, it's responsibility.

In contrast, I do think abortion is the fairest option for the child if it's other option was to come into a world with parents who couldn't look after it.  But I'd never ever make it the first suggestion.

Anyway, enjoy being parents.  I'm happy for you! :)

  9. I hate how people think that "state" medical is a bad thing!!! My husband works full time bringing home over 300/wk and I work part time bringing home over 400 every 2 wks but neither his job or my job offer medical...I had my first son @ 20 years old and now he is 6 and Im expecting our second child due in august...we have not once thought that we were doing a bad thing for ourselves or our children by giving them medical insurance so that we all can be healthy...NOT ALL YOUNG PARENTS ARE s***w UPS!!!!

  10. granted am not a young mum... god forbid if i was i'd be slightly more creaped out and worried... at seventeen and male pregnancy is not something i should be accustomed too thank you very much...

but i'll admit the abuse some people get when looking for advice is unreal... people come on here for help not a lecture they probs get everyday of someone else...

so i support the cause i get where your coming from... there shouldn't be an age limit to get pregnant before people stop looking down on you... only you will know if your ready and whats right...

dOnt take the abortion abuse and what not to heart... its just sad lonely onld men and s****. women who are depressed and how bad life is for them...if your ready then no one can tell you over wise...

if you don't know if your ready... don't abort alife for no reason... have it see how it feels if you find out you ain't am sure someone in the family will help you out or you can let someone else adopt your child... there are millions of couples that can't have a child... abortions a wasted life in my opinion... not like anyone asked...

  11. I totally know how you feel..

  12. Not a young Mum sorry for that right off, but I'm a huge anti-abortionist since my ex aborted my child and now due to an accident, I can never have children again!

Some people on Q&A critisise anything and every thing

Good luck with your baby, i'll say a little prayer all turns out ok for you tonight!

    X

  13. i think good on you hunn, iv just turned 21, ( do i still fit in this catagory hehe) and i have a 20month old little boy, and i work my  butt off and my partner is in the police, we have our own home, mortgage and a car! i am the opposite to these people who say get an abortion! when i found out i was pregnant, i had no job, neither of us drove, my partner was earning more or less peas and we lived with out parents, nothing could of worked out better for us, and its this good because at the end of the day, i didnt have an abortion and i couldnt be happier!

  14. I am not a young mom anymore, but had my daughter when I was 20.  I feel like I did, and am still doing a good job at raising her!  Age does not always matter.

  15. i totally agree.

    some people just dont understand!

theu should be mofre respectful instead of telling us to kill our baby.

  16. I had my first baby at 17 and my daughter 18 months later now i'm 21 an 8 months pregnant with #3, My partner an i have been together for 5 1/2 years we have our own car an also rent privatly he also works 2 jobs to support us and i am about to start studying again next year.

I am a young mum but to me age dosn't matter it just means im younger an fitter an have more energy to run around an play with them than if i was older.

  17. i take my hat off to any teen mum who goes ahead and has their baby! i was 19 when i got pregnant and even though i got a lot of rude comments and nasty looks, there was no way i was about to kill my kid over it!  i love my son to death and cant imagine my life without him! those girls need to be reassured and told they're doing something amazing, not criticized and put down for their decisions.
