The young defender is not daunted by the tall order of carving a place in Barcelona first team and reflected that he is looking forward to the challenge.
Muniesa is held in high regard by La Blaugrana hierarchy, with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta announcing that the young Spanish defender will be promoted to the first team next season.
The 19-year-old is unfazed by the difficult task on hands and stated that he is confident of standing true to the tests ahead of him. He reflected that representing Barcelona is a dream for him and he will like to seize any opportunity that comes his
way.
"Am I afraid? No, man, it's been a dream since childhood," the Barca B player told Sport. "It is a challenge, a very big challenge. “
"But we must seize our opportunities and when you play you just have to do your best.”
"The truth is that this is a dream that is gradually coming true. I saw in the press that Andoni Zubizarreta had announced it [his promotion] and I am very happy.”
"But for now I must continue working with the reserves and next year we'll see."
The Lloret de Mar-born defender made his league debut with Barcelona in the 2009/10 La Liga season, coming on as a substitute in a 1–0 La Liga home loss against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/CA-Osasuna-c38712.
Even though Muniesa preferably plays in the centre-back or full-back role, this season he showcased how he can also play in the holding midfield position.
"I would not have thought of it [playing as a defensive midfielder]," he admitted.
