Young Profesionals but what does it mean ???

One often sees this when applied to renting a property.

I assume 'professional' means anyone with a job!

It's stretching the definition of Professional a bit. I always associated the expression with Doctors, Solicitors, etc.

I guess it emerged from Estate-Agent speak??

  1. Young professionals means a young person who is in a profession. I agree with you that the professionals usually refers to doctors, solicitors, teachers, judges, social workers etc. The "professions" usually refers to jobs where some degree of specialist academic or practical traing is a requirement for the job.

Yes it's definately estate-agent-speak when used in the wider context of wealthy young people.

  2. Someone with a profession, ie trained , rather than someone with a job, i guess it is about security, for instance you can always get a nother job if you are professionally trained and the contracts are tighter.
