Young Sid likely to prevail in The William & Peter King 509er
Young Sid is likely to win The William & Peter King 509er at Swindon in England on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Te Grade OR event has a cash prize of £150 for the winning greyhound.
A total of six quality runners have been attracted towards the 509 metres flat race, which is scheduled to start at 20:36 GMT. Their names are as follows: Young Sid, Millridge Duke, Swift Tilly, Silverton Blaze, Cleenas Alice and Hedsor Caspian.
The bookmakers are confident about the chances of Young Sid, who seems to be in a great rhythm at the moment. He has won a couple of races out of his past three appearances, which shows his form.
P. Young’s trainee managed to finish on top of the table in his most recent outing at Romford. He was not the favourite to win that event, but surprised one and all with his speed and stamina. He is known for his good starts, but the most crucial thing in
a long distance race is the stamina.
Young Sid seems to have all the winning tools and he is also very much confident, following his recent success. The punters will be interested in placing maximum number of bets on the favourite hound, who is the son of Killahan Phanter out of Marwood Review
and was born in January 2009.
Millridge Duke, trained by Dickinson, also has good chances of winning today’s race, as he is in good form. He has been regularly running in this class and has managed to produce some decent results.
In his past five runs, Millridge Duke showed very good rhythm and did not fall out of top three even once. However, he was not able to win consistently before he finally broke the shackles at Henlow in his most recent appearance.
The black and white dog has got the winning confidence now and will be a threat for the race favourite at Swindon. However, he will have to be at his best in order to finish on top of the table.
The second favourite hound is the son of Duke Special out of Bridge Tango and was born in August 2009.
It will be a difficult task for the rest of the hounds to challenge the top two favourites, as they are in good form at the moment.
