Young Sid’s hat trick inevitable in the Ladbrokes Blue Riband – Heat 1 at Hall Green on 4th April
The Ladbrokes Blue Riband – Heat 1 is to get staged at Hall Green over 480 metres flat on Wednesday, 4th April. Taking part in the contest tonight are Young Sid, Jaytee Ray, Drink Up Delwood, Aherlow Shaw, Supreme Chalkie and Kingsmill Super.
The prize money for the race is £150.
Leading with the best credentials for tonight is Young Sid, Killahan Phanter’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Marwood Review. His performance in the races during the last month has been pretty consistent.
On 5th March, Young Sid won the Betfred.Com Standard Trophy -  Heat 2 at Nottingham over 500 metres by timing the track distance in 30.42 seconds with seven lengths’ lead.
Hats My Diamond was the first one to follow the winner on the other end of the wire while the 7/4 favourite of the race, Fabulous Athena, concluded the race third.
Young Sid then met the worst finishing of the month in the Betfred.Com Standard Trophy Final on 12th March at Nottingham over 500 metres. He was the 11/10 favourite of the race who was the last entrant to leave the field.
The race was won by Romeo Patriot who was through the track distance in 30.19 seconds while the runner up for the race was Loyal Legacy.
As if avenging the miserable defeat, Young Sid got hold of both the races that came his way after the failure.
Young Sid completed the 575 metres’ trip in 35.73 seconds in the Romford Stadium Stayers on 16th March at Romford and led the runner up of the race, Razldazl Zamba, by 1 ¾ lengths.
Settling into the third spot was Rushmoor Topsie while the 2/1 favourite of the race, Balmi Blue, was the fourth one to join the winner on the other end of the race.
The very next race resulted in a victory too. Young Sid rested the William & Peter King 509er on 21st March in 29.66 seconds and was entered as the 5/4 favourite of the race. He led the runner up, Millridge Duke, by 7 ¾ lengths.
To ensure his hat trick today, trainer P. Young drilled Young Sid over 480 metres at Hall Green on 26th March.
