Question:

Young Skiers, Looking for Group Ski Trips?

Hey Everyone,

I am looking for group ski trips in the USA. It seems that the only things out there are for ski clubs, or for large groups (50+ people, and those are usually for schools, church groups, etc).

Basically, I am looking for something that offers a "sign up" for a trip... around ages 20 - 40, and smaller group sizes (12 - 18 people). Perhaps some travel agents offer trips like this? I did find ONE sign up for ski season 2009, but it was for Europe.... I really want to stick to the USA for cost reasons.

Anyone know of any tours / agents / groups that offer sign up group trips?

  1. No harm in signing up for a ski club.  My local one only charges $25/year in dues, and I'm sure you save that much by going on just one trip.

Lots of cities have ski clubs.  Here is a list of ski clubs under the umbrella of the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council - in other words, clubs within a few hundred miles of Chicago.

If you don't live in this region, there may be another council and/or clubs near you.  Just try googling the name of your city followed by "ski club".

  2. Why not start one yourself?  Many others will probably join you.  These are social sports as much as snow sports.  Your age group may be a limiting factor for midweek.  Also ask about group rate lessons for the ski school at your destination area, or maybe just a tour guide for the morning.
