Young Woong Ha tames Bikash Shrestha to penetrate into main round of Thailand Open 2012
Korea’s impressive young player Young Woong Ha showed his elite class in the court when he hammered Bikash Shrestha of Nepal in his second qualifying round battle and penetrated into Men’s Singles main round at SCG Thailand Open 2012 in Bangkok, on Tuesday,
June 5.
The Korean put up thrilling show of top quality badminton and thrashed his opponent without facing any considerable trouble from his opponent and entered into the main round with an impressive ease.
The spirited Korean played remarkable game in the whole match and easily grab victory over his Nepali rival in straight games by reserving the court time for just 20 minutes.
Bikash, on the other hand, could not match the speed of his Korean challenger throughout the match and also remained unable to shake the rhythm of Young Woong. He lost to his Korean rival without showing a strong character in front of the Thai crowd.
In the opening set, the Korean did not take much time in gearing up his speed and established an early lead. However, his rival played well and made the score levelled at 5-5.
Young Woong showed maturity at this stage as he played safe badminton while controlling the pace of rallies and managed to create a superb gap of 11-6 until the mid-game interval.
After the break, he remained on track without showing any mercy to his opponent in the whole second half and grabbed the game with a sensational score of 21-14.
In the second game, Bikash showed his class when he started to dictate the pace of rallies by taking the bird early from net and also from the rear-court.
The Nepali shuttler managed to set up a small lead against his in-form Korean opponent by reaching at 11-9 until the break.
After the interval, Young Woong stunned his rival by playing flawless badminton as he scored 10 consecutive points to reach at 19-11.
He continued his dominating play and easily took the second game with a one-sided margin of 21-12.
Young Woong emerged as victorious in this lopsided straight-set clash in just 20 minutes with a superb 21-14 and 21-12 score on the board.
